The Now Zealand I/oan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows :—
The usual monthly sale wns held on Wednesday last, when we submitted a good catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. Competition was very keen for all good lines of ox and oow, a/f advanced prices, calf-skins being somewhat easier. The prices of nil inferior lines of hides -were lower, there being little competition. Tallow (which was passed \n) was negectedi, the prices offered be«ng about 6s per <jiwt lower than last sale.
Prices: Abbatoir heavy ox 1.4 7-8 d per 1b ; medium ox, lod ; light ox, 11 Jd ; medium cow 11 5-8 d: light cow 11 3-Bdi
Country Lines: Medium ox ll£d per tb; light ox 10|<l; medium cow 10 5-8 d; light cow lOd; yearliugb 9-Jd to 10-d; cut and slippy <wv 6id to 7d; yearlings, slinny. 7*d; hors? to 7/6 each; heavy calf ll£d : medium calf 13£ d ; cut calf lOd to 12* d; first calf 16 l-8d; second calf 14 5-Bd'; third calf P^d.
