Dalgety and Co.. Ltd., Palmerston North, repoii; having a very' fair e^itry of both sheep and cattle at their Taihape sale on Wednesday last, and while there- was good competition tor sheep, cattle were almost unsaleable. Quotations : Cull ewes 8s 3d to 12s; low conditioned 4 and 5-year ewes 14s to 15s; 4 and 5-year ewes 20s to 23s 4d • mixed fat sheep to 28s 3d; mixed'aged Romney rams 22s to 2^ gns; 4-tooth Lincoln ram 9, 5 gns. Cattle: Light fat cows £9 to £10; fat cows £11. to £11 10s; 3-year heifers £8; cows with calves 10 gns.
New Zealand Loan and Mercanfcib Agency Co., Ltd., Wanganui, report as follows: On Tuesday 4th (March, we had a very successful clearing sale ut I/ong Acre on account of estate of late G. W. Anderson. The stock were in excellent condition and the she^p, being early shorn and the cattle go^d colours, there was very keen and spirised competition. There was a large attendance of the public. The prices reaib«d were as follows:—
Sheep.—Good lambs 14s, medium lambs 8.«, cull lambs 7s Id; 2-tooth wethers 28s 9d. aged wethers 265; 2tooth ewes, 28s 2d, 4-4ooth and 6-toorh ewes 33s 6d, full-mouth ewes 17s 6d, cull ewes 4s; mxed B.F. sheep 20s Gd, Stud ewe lambs 19s; aged Stud ewes 25s 6d; rams 2i guineas to 3J guinans. Cattle. — Yearling to 15-months steers and heifers £4 15s; 2-year steers £9 2s; 2}-y<?ar steers £9 12 <; forward cows £9 14s; fat cows £11 andairy cows £10 15s; bull £12 15s. Horses.—Child's pony, £12, ag^d hack £8, trap horse * £18, drauelit mares £18, £26.
