OVERSEAS MAILS AT WELLINGTON.
EXTRAORDINARY ACCUMULA-

WELLINGTON, January 23
For the past week the General Post Office, Wellington, has been inundated with overseas mails. The staff has been working day and night endeavouring to distribute the accumulation which has resulted from the shipping shortage. It is stated that never in the history of New Zealand has there been such an accumulation of mails, nor has one vessel before brought so much mail on one trip.
