A GHASTLY MASSACRE.

LONDON. October 25

.The Daily Telegraph's Petrograd correspondent says that according to Russian newspapers the town of Wenden was the scene of a ghastly massacre of Germans during the Russian, retreat from Riga, While the last Russian detachments were traversing the town, the rumour was spread that the German residents were firing at and bombing the troops from windows, whereupon rioters, mostly civilians, systematically attacked the German houses and exterminated every German, not sparing even women or children.
