ECHO OF THE EEVUE.

An echo of the "Watch Your Step" Revue Company's recent Auckland performance, and the tour which followed was again Heard on Tuesday night at the meeting of the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association. The revue waa produced in aid of the latter's funds Mr W. J. Meredith one of the joint secretaries of the revue con:pajiy, s?ctended find was; given leave to make a statement.

Mr. Meredith asserted that the tour, i which hao proved so disastrous, had noz > been authorised by the executive of the company, no meeting of which ho had been able to call together. He alleged that the Union Company's list showed that 85 persons went on the tour, the names of some of whom he had never heard before. • His roll number of members of the company was never larger than 74, and there were only about 50 performers. The executive, the other secretary, and himself had, he said, been absolutely ignored. Mr Meredith, as an officer of "the executive, objected to the report of the subcommittee of the Association, which had attributed the blame for the loss on the tour to mismanagement. Mr. P. A. Hillary said the subcommittee's report cast no aspersions on the executive of the revue company. Mr Meredith ajso read a statement showing that his motor car expenses for the revue season totalled £2 14s 6d, the details of which he gave and which. h 6 contended, were authorised and not unreasonable.

No action was taken by the meeting beyond thanking Mr Meredith for his explanation.
