ROADS IN RANGITIKEI.
COMPLAINTS OF RATEPAYERS.
Reporting to the Rangitikei County Council on the condition of the roads in the county, „ Mr. A. Thorns (Road Inspector) stated that the roads generally n.r c in fair order; but some of the by-roads require moro work done on them. There is so much to do on the iria.iii roads that the roadmen are un-able-sfco give the bj'-roads the attention they should have. "The ratepayers," he says, "are complaining about them being neglected, but they seem to forget that the Council have not raised the rates for three years, although the traffic has nearly doubled in that time, and the cost of material and labour has been advanced in nrice considerably." - * _'
