Received 12.45 a.m., Sept. 3 LONDON, Sept.' 2. Sir Douglas Haig reports: We successfully raided eastward of Wytschaete. . We bomhed dug-outs and machme gunned the escaping garrisons. ■ We repulsed raiders south-westward of Lavricourt.

The British prisonered during August t-279, of whom 158 were officers, making 10,697 (including 234 officers) since the morning of July 31st. Thirty-eight guns (including six heavies) 200 machine guns, and 73 trench mortars were captured during August.
