Sir Douglas Haig reports: The enemy heavily bombarded our recently captured positions eastward of Hargicourt and eastward of Epeliy, also our lines eastward of Gouzeaucourt.

Strong enemy forces attacked and forced us to evacuate an isolated knoll northward of Guillemont Farm.

We repulsed attacks eastward of Gouzeaucourt.
