STOCK SALE REPORTS.
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., reports as follows:— We had a small yarding of both sheep and cattle at our Wanganui sale. Competition was inclined to be slack, and several lines were passed. Good business, howeevr, was effected after the sale, and the bulk of the yarding was quitted at prices well up to the late sales. We quote: Medium hoggets 22.5 6d; small black-faced hoggets 19s 4d; empty ewes 25s to 26s 2d; medium 2-th wethers 365; springing heife<rs £7 14s* cows close to drop £11 15s; forward cows £9 /10s; medium weaners £4. At our Waverley sale on the 31st we had a fair yarding of cattle. Competition was fairly good throughout, and we report practically a total clearance at the following prices: Springers £14; springing heifers £9 5s to £11 ss; Jersey heifers with calv-ss at foot £13 2s 6d; cull cows and calves £4 10s; fat light heifers £7 16s: medium yearling steers 5 gns; small weaners £2 to £2 17s. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report on their Feilding Bale of Aug. 31 as follows:— We had a very good yarding of both i sheep and cattle; competition Avas keen ! throughout, and practically a total clearance was effected at advanced prices. Quotations: — Sheep: Cull hoggets 14s 6d to 15s; small do. ISs Id; medium do. 22s to 22s 3d; fair do. 23s Id to 24s 2d; very fair hoggets 24s lid to 255; good hoggets 26s 6d to 29s 2d; best hoggets 30s 6d to 32s 3d; empty ewes 17s 8d to 28s 3d; fat ewes 35s 6d; fat wethers 40s 3d to 435; 2-th wethers 345. Cattle: Springing heifers £10 to £13; yearling heifers £3 19s to £5; 2-year empty heifers £6 to £8 ss; forward cows "to £9 17s; light fat and forward cows £10 7s 6d; yearling steers £6 17s; 2£ year steers £11 10s. A line of 42 rising 3-year steers sold in conjunction with Abraham and Williams, Ltd., on account of Mr D. L. Younger, 14 gns.
