RIFLE SHOOTING.

Wangaiuii Defence Rilie Club 11 team «nd the Alexandra Mounted Defence Rifle Club. '• The day was fine except ior a heavy; 6Slia.v-er of rain at the commencpmerit of the match, but that cleared off, aad the remainder ol' the day was fine. The conditions were: 7 shots &i, 'MO and 500 yards; teama-.of ten or more. siside, but to make the match as even as. possible it was arranged that'thV match be fired witU the rifle as iisued (no apperture;* to be u&ed). In the end the senior club proved victors by 32 points. The l«ope. expressed that more matches would follow between the clubs, believing it will result in v, mutual benfiet to both. Captain Moro-an V.D., on behalf of the Alexandras' thanked Captain Swan and.his men for the pleasant time they had given them, and concluded by asking the Alexandras tp give. three cheers for the Wanganui Defence Rifle Club.
