The "Daily Mail" says tne submarines are still the master problem of the war. The Josses of almost seventy big ships monthly reveal that we are barely holding our own at very severe cost.
The "Times' " engineering supplement comments that, the losses of 825 vessels as the result of half a year's ruthlessness, represents about one-eighth of the mercantile lleet The average loss is 377 6 tons each' excluding 149 fishing vessels.
