"OUR DAY."

A meeting of the executive of the above was held in the Borough Couucil Chambers yesterday afternoon. Present : Mrs. Mackay (chair), Mesdames Gifi'ord-Moore, Russell Grace, Jackson, Wootto'n, Spnggens, Misses Morton Jolies, Cowper, and Messrs Spriggens and C. E. Mackay. An apology for absence was received from the Hon. Gilbert Carson.

It was decided that "Our Day" collection be held on Wednesday, 17th October, and should take the form of a street and house-to-house collection.

The Mayor.reported that he had written the management of His Majesty's Theatre asking the principals to allow ht 0 "Our Day" committee the nse ot His Majesty's on the night His Excellency 'the Governor is in "Wanganui, and that all proceeds of tin's concert bo devoted to "Our Day" Fund. His action was approved of. The following were appointed an Amusement Committee, with power to add: Mrs. -Jackson, Miss Morton Jones, Messrs Spriggens, Dmgan, Maekay and Swan. It was left in their hands to interview the Fire Brigade members as to assisting on the night of the 17th October by procession and display. The following names were added to ( the Executive: Mesdanies Veitcii,' Spriggens. Christie and Mr. Capon. Tb was left to Messrs Mackay and Spriggens to interview the papers re advertising.

The secretary was instructed to write to all societies making an urgent appeal to do what they can towards the "Our Day" Fund, either by assisting on the day, or raising funds in whatever manner they think fit.
