AWARDS FOR BRAVERY
OAMARU, August 30. Tho Governor-General paid a 'brief visit to-day to present awards made to Oam'aru soldiers for bravery at the front. There was a good turnout of Territorials and a big gathering of the public. All the recipients being dead, there was iro outburst of enthusiasm. The presentations were made to next-of-kin, as follows:—Sergeant Donald Forrester Brown, the Victoria Cross, to Eicha-rd Brown (the father); Lieutenant H. Kibblewhite, the Military Cross, to Mrs Kibblewhite (wife); Private Alexander Kennedy, the Russian Order of St. George, to Mr D. Kennedy (father)
