ADVANCE IN YPRES AREA.
LONDON, Aug. 16. n lhe High. CVmnnissioner cables as rollows :—
Sir Douglas Haig reports that eastward and. northward of Ypres, at 4.45 this morning, the Allies again attacked on a wide front. After heavy fighting, progress was made at all points, despite the stubborn resistance of the enemy.
On the Lens battle-front three more enemy counter-attacks during the night were repulsed. At Cit c S!t. Auguste our artillery broke up the enemy's concentration.
