LONDON, August 15. CJerman .Official.—Strong Alliei enemy attacks in the western theatre are preparing. We imprisoned a large number of Portuguese at Neuve Ohapelle. The French twice unsuccessfully attacked southward of V&uroy. There is increased artillery activity on the Aisne front* in the Western Champagne, and northward of Verdun. The Frenci brought up strong forces at Verdun, especially artillery. We repulsed attacks at Fliery. Infantry engagements are proceeding northward of Lens,
