CYCLONE IN WELLINGTON.
WELLINGTON, August 14. A cyclonic gale that raged yesterday from the noTth died down in the evening. During the night a southerly gale sprang up, accompanied by a steady downpour of rain. Considerable damage was done to fences and gardens, and telegraph. and telephone lines were knocked about.
