PLUNKET SOCIETY.

The usual monthly meeting of tho Royal N.Z. Society for the Health of Women and Children, was held in the Plunket Nurse Room on Tuesday afternoon, at 3 o'clock. Present: Mesdames Gibbons (chair), Stevenson, Neame, Spurdle, Cameron, Reeve, Williams, Comyns, Izett, Bates, Sampson, and Misses Cowper and Morton-Jones! Apologies were received from Mesdames Rrull, Lloyd, D'Arcy, Hine and Limton.

Report.—The report for July showed 63S visits to the town office (332 adults and 306 babies); 172 visits to the Wanganui East office (77 adults and 95 oiiikiren) ; and 3U9 visits were paid to homes by the nurses. During the month there were 120 new cases, and the nurse also advised by correspondence oases from New Plymouth, Stratford, Waitara, Waitotara, Westmere, Kai Iwi, Fordell, Pairrierson, Te Kuiti, and Ngature.

It was resolved that the following notice be placed in the Plunket office :— "The work of the Pluuket nurses is supported by annual subscriptions and voluntary donations. Minimum subscriptions 5s anmiallv.

Lloyd George Week.— The secretary was instructed to write to the Central Council, stating that the committee approve of the idea of holding a Lloyd George Week, and recommending the first week in November as being the most suitable time.

Correspondence. —' Several letters were dealt with, including one to the Hon. W. F. Massey, recommending that Mrs Truby King's name be placed among those who might have an honour conferred upon them in recognition of their meritorious services during the war. Mr Massey replied that he would have much i^oasure in submitting Mrs Trub.y King's name.
