•LONDON, August 12. Mr. Barnes has been offered a seat in the War Cabinet in succession to Mr. Henderson. He has asked for time to consider acceptance with the unanimous approval of his Labour colleagues. Mr. Henderson's statement in the House of Commons on the 13th inst is being anxiously awaited.
A leading Minister sugjssts that only a general election can solve the serious crisis.
