CHRISTCHURCH, November 28. The chemists' assistants met the em; ployers at the Conciliation Council today for an award for the first time in the history of the Dominion. The proceeding were taken in committee. The union asks that assistants be divided into apprentices, assistants,. and managers; wages of appreatices, 10s per week first year, and a yearly increase of 10s up to three years; registered assistants, 80s first year, increases to 100s thir-i year, ,120s thereafter; .unregistered assistants 60s, increases 80s third year, 100s thereafter.
