BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY.
Several energetic members of the Castlecliff branch of the Beautifying Society commenced the planting of the Castlecliff" beach yesterday afternoon. Under the supervision of Mr. Tucker, tiie Borough Gardener, 875 trees were planted, principally pinus muricata and maritana, also pettosporums, which arc suitable to such a locality, resisting thes and and sea winds. '
A working bee will commence planting Karaka Strett on Saturday afternoon afc 2 o'clock. The Borough Gardener is sending 250 cabbage trees for planting.
