Prince Burdqlph put up an Australian record, 3min. 24fsecs, in the Cup on' Monday/ his time being very little slower than Warstep's Australasian record in the Trentham Gold Cup last year, when the Martian mare ran the two miles in 3min. 24secs. On the same day. Mr. D. C. •Seato.n's brilliant two-year-old colt Wrdnroi (by imported Kenilworth out of Widden I/ass) carried off the Champagne Stakes, running the six fui'longs in the clinking time of lmin. 13secs.
