PATRIOTIC ENTERTAINMENT.
The AVanganui Merrymakers visited Fordell on Tuesday evening last.. The Public Hall was packed with an enthusiastic and delighted audience, _ late comers being contented to stand inside the door. The'patriotic element was much in evidence, especially so in the case of the younger portion of the audience, who exercised their (lung power to ,the best advantage. The financial result Avas very satisfactory. Prior to leaving for AVanganui, the best thanks of the party was left with Mrs. Sutherland and her lady friends for the delightful supper provided; to Mr. Harry Dickinson for arranging matters'so successfully on behalf of the management, I and to "the Rev. Carew Thomas, for the use of the piano and other furnishings. The itinerary is still filling up. Brunswick will be visited on the 20th, and Maxwelltown on the 27th of this month. In response to the suggestion of increased prices that emanated from the Kai Iwi patrons during the party's recent visit, and seeing +hat the popularity of the programme, as well as that of the individual members of the party, has been so pronounced and left such a good impression with all, the management have, after careful consideration, and with the view to pleasing all parties, decided to grant the request. From this date the tariff will be : Adults 25., children Is. each.
