ANOTHER GOOD PURCHASE

WELLINGTON. September 14

The Prime Minister informed a "Dominion" reporter yesterday that tho Government had purchased a block of land known as the Lynton Downs estate in Marlborough province for sub-, division and close settlement. Tho block lies south of Kaikoura on the line of the South Island Main Trunk Railway. It consists of TOQfi acres of freebold and 9000 acres of Crown leasehnh\ which 'will bo resume^ on tho purchase nf the freehold. It has been used for sheep grazing nn till the present, but the Prime Minister stated that the valuers had informed him that unite a large proportion of it was suitable for agricultural purposes.
