Henry Spencer, railway carpenter, 39 years old, residing at Lower Riccarton. was found hanging dead this morning in the wash-house. He had used a s«e clothes-line for the purpose. At the inquest it was stated that deceased had a nervous breakdown two months and a half ago. and had suffered from insomnia. He vame out of the hospital yesterday afternoon and slept in a separate rcom, and on hi? wife investigating this morning found him ias already described. A verdict was recorded that deceased committed suicide by hanging himself whilst in a state of unsound miud.
