SATURDAY HOLIDAY.

Sir, —The reason put forward in favour of the Saturday holidaj' on account "of tho school children having their holiday on that day, is one that shoiild appeal' to every mother, father, and every person interested i,n the welfare of our children. Tho fathers now having tho Thursday holiday .and working on Saturdays cannot interest them selves with their children on Saturdays, when the children are free and have only the streets to play in. and .cot into all kinds of mischief and doubtful company. If the fathers were free on Saturdays to take their, children for walks into the parks, gardens, a run to. .the beach j or interest them in fiXther'B work in the garden, the children would be better in health. find knowledge, and would tend to make better -men and women, instead of running «niok in the streets as they do now for want, of their daddy being with ihem. ...JL.hopo every another and fnitl*er, for ths dear laddies' sake, will ••rote "for Saturday.—Yours, etc..
