LADIES ON HOSPITAL BOARDS.

'.; Sir,—lam not surprised that "G.W." is not convinced by my statements. He appears to be like the Forfar juryman. He says sex should not be considered, and in this assertion he reaches the bed-rock of the argument. I, and I hope the lurge majority of the electors, will disagree with him. This is neither the time nor the place to discuss that subject. I further' differ, with him that ability is all that is' required. Ability, or intellect, is necessary, but a manor a woman may have a large supply of either, arid yet l)t> lacking in tne essential quality of fairmindedness, and the judicial instinct, which are the main qualifications, or ought to. be,1 .of members of public bodies. I must thank "G.W.. 1 forl the courteous manner in wfiich he has replied to me, but must warn him, and his supporters, that if the ladies, anu I couple with them the parson, are returned, they -will only ,be sowing the seeds of discord, and doing serious damage to an institution which is a credit to the town and district. Sir,^—l have read the correspondence between ."Anti-Suffragette" arid "G.W.," and in my. opinion the latter, has had by far the best of the argument. I for one ' pia. satisfied that the presence on the Board of a coupjfc of capable-women would be a good, thing, and I am also pleased to spe an able member of the clergy ofl^ering himself for* election.
