LABOUR—THE OTHER A HUMBUG
(United Press Association.: —Copyright.)
SYDNEY,. December 17
-Toufihingjjolrtics, Mr:--Willis (N.S.W. Speaker) told the teachers in his speech •at the conference that there was only one Liberal left. He did nat know whether they we're going to vote Labour or the other fellow, but he knew the other fellow was a humbug. His objection, to the Labour party was that it did not go far enough or; fast enough. Defending his claim for a higher salary, he said a 'workman was worthy of his hire. There were plenty of men who were willing to represent'them for nothing, but The .man who does it for nothing gets rich. One thing he was bound to say about Australian public men was that they were honest. He had had, nine years' experience and had never seen a member take as much as a, twopenny stamp. He was willing to servo for '.nothing, because it was an honour to represent one's country.
