HAWKE CUP MATCH
WANGANUI v. SOUTH TARANAKI
TO-DAY
On Cook's Gardens this forenoon, there will commence at 11-30 the first match in the tournament among North and South Island minor Associations for the Hawke Cup, when {foe Wanganui representative eleven play South Taranaki Association. Wanganu"! has a very strong team, a.nd if the wearier keeps fine and the wicket rolls out well, spectators may look forward to a first class exhibition of the grand scientific summer game. The personnel of the Wanganui team is as follows :—Orton, Howard, Furrie, Holland. Tilyard, Bathgate, Burrett, MurcTiie, Salmond, Bernau. and Buttenvortn. Emergency bowler, Tronson; emergency batsman, Tracy! Admission to Cook's' Gardens is free, but those who wish to contribute towards defraying the expenses may do so, for there will be collectors at the gates. The hours of play are: 11-30 to 1. 2 till 4. 4-15 to 6-30. The match will bo continued to-morrow. A good attendance is expected.
