FIERCE HAND-TO-HAND CONFLICT
ATHENS, December 15. Th« Greeks have occupied Scalapa Ramythid. an- important point in the Janina district, after a. desperate allday fight. Sixty Turks were captured. Details of Thursday's .battle near Ja--nina show that the Turks held a strongly entrenched position, supported by thirty guns. The Gregk trobps advanced on the Turkish left flank lip a steep elope in the face of heavy fire, and 200 fell in « few minuses. '['* The' advance was continued to the trenches, which were charged with bayonets. ■■'■-:
A fierce hand-to-hand conflict took olace on the flank, whereupon the whole Turkish line retired.
The Greeks captured seven guns.
