CFrom our Travelling Reporter)
MARTON, Dec. 16. No matter, which railway station yard one goes into, there is plenty of evidence tbhat the products of the farm are of nil-importance just now. Drayloads of the golden fleece .are coming in for shipment, and the bleating of lambs and sheep ajppoars to indicate that they are fully aware of the fact that they are to spend the last few hours of a comparatively short life in riding over the railway line to meet the butcher and the freezer ,at the other end.
Tho handling of. wool and sheep is unquestionably keeping the various railway staffs busy just now, and Feilding in particular anticipates being able to keep uin >its Dominion reputation for the quantity oi fat stock it sends away. During the past four weeks 1550 bales of wool !were forwarder! of a value of over £23,000, whilst the number of sheep sent aiway aggregated 5316; 175 piigs and 378 head of cattle were also .sent away during tho same period. The value of the exportation would (aggregate over £30..000.
