STEALING FROM SHIP'S CARGO

Henry Wilkinson, a fireman on the steamer, Paparoa, was convicted at Port Chalmers to-day of embezzling from tho ship's cargo on the 13th inst. at the Dmiedin wharf a roll of waterproof tweed valued!'at £20, the property of the New, Zealand Shipping Co. The accused, who pleaded not guilty, was sentenced to three months'. hard labour.
