WANGANUI v. ST. PAUL'S
This match was played on the College ground, and' resulted in a. threepoint win for Wanganui. Batting first, Wanganui ran up 112 (Corpe 29, Atkins 24, Gillison 21, and Thayer 10). Bertenshaw took 4 for 29, Cooper 3 for 26, Black 2 for 10, and Stevenson 1 for 26. St. Paul's scored 66 (Bertenshaw 22, Cooper 16). Atkins took six for 33, Colenian 2 for. 21, and Hedditch 1 for 7. .With three down for 90 in their second innings, Wanganui declared. Atkins made 61, and Spurdle 16. Bertenshaw took the three- wickets at a cost of seven runs. This left St. Paul's 136 to get, Jbut ,they failed, the innings reaching 84 (Taylor 21, Bertenshaw 17, and Stevenson 12). Spurdle took six wickets for 35, and Hedditch 4 for 28. Wanganui won by 52 runs.
