. Facing their opponents' total of 220, and College having three d« for 80. the game appeared to be anyone's. Latham and Asheroft continued School's innings, the latter laying on the wood. Ashcroft's hitting propensities, however, brought about his downfall. Jennings and Latham got together, the former scoring steadily and the latter slowly. TJig runs mounted up, and St. Paul's score was eventually passed by a substantial margin, before Jennings was bowled after compiling a splendid 66. Latham had scored 88 when he also was 'bowled. His 88 was a very serviceable, one, his tactics wearing the bowling down. The innings closed for 300. St. Paul's occupied the wickets until time, good exhibitions of batting .being given by Burrefrfc 63. Bathgate 43, and Tilyard 33. College B. gained a first innings victory by 80 runs. Scores:— ST.
