A VALUABLE GIFT.
(Per Press Association.) - AUCKLAND, December 12. Mr. Henry Shaw, a member of the Auckland Cit- Council, has presented to the city the whole of his collection of ancient books,and manuscripts: valued at from £2,500 to £3,000. The Council resolved to place the books in the AueklaricTTree Library.
