THE CORONATION.
TO-DAY'S CELEBRATIONS.
In common with their fellow-sub-jects in the. Dominion, the people of Wanganui will to-day celebrate the Coronation of King George V. -The weather yesterday was, unfortunately, stormy and wet.' which interfered considerably -with the .work of preparing decorations. - Nevertheless, the* town wears the appearance of festival, and, should the weather b3 fim?, which indications at the time of: writing/do/-not lead us to expect—to-day's functions should be noteworthy:-.' The programme to be observed today is as follows: At 11 o'clock a great citizens'.united religious service will be • held iii'tlie'Opera House.-•.•Services."will also be held at the Anglican and' Catholic Churches at the same hour. In the afternoon, commencing at 2 o'clock, a -procession/described below, will take place, followed by a mass meeting in Cok's Gardens, in the evening a procession Will ba held.
