NEW HALL AT KAITOKE.

A'fc /i, meeting of the trustees of tltt* • Kaitoke Public Hall, held on Saturday, 18fch j.nst., the following tenders for the erection of. the hall wore received:. (i) A Thompson. £329:15s 9d; (2) J.: M. Hamilton, £320; (3) W. P. Wainsborough, £312 10s 4d; (4) Woolstori and Hewitson, £308 14s. The lowest lender wrs accepted. The* hall is to be built on the No. I Line, at the junction -of that road arid the Concor-d Line, where a section has heeii secured for the purpose. Th<» residents of the district, 'together with some public-spirited donors who are u/it reside nits, are responding liberally to the call for suVscriptions. As .the"canvass is now in, active operation, the | trustees should soon be x>l»ced in an easy position as regards finance. A speciality is being made of the dancing floor ; 40ft. by 30ft., part of matai, upon which there i? <iyery indication nf their being a keen demand. There will bo two large dressing-rooirs, one on cither side of 'the passage entrance, while behind the fixed stage will run i the refreshment room, fitted with tables, boiler, sirk, etc. Altogether it will be seen 'that Kaitoke will very shorty bs in possession of a valuable asset.
