The route lay through Papanui, Kaiapoi and Rangiora, and opened to the visitors some cliaracteristically Canterbury agricultural and pastoral country. The party returned from Rangiora and made their headquarters at the Riccarton Racecourse, when luncheon was served in the Canterbury Jockey Club's luncheon room. Toasts were proposed and excellent speeches were given. Mr John Foster Fraser was present, and his splendid speech on British commerce was followed by other speakers. The motor tour was continued towf-ds the Cashmere Hill and finished at Archery Lawn in the Domain Gardens. The delegates and their friends were there entertained at afternoon tea, and were subsequently driven to their hotels. The party left by the 7.45 p.m. train to join the steamer for Welington.
