(For Pres? Association.) i WELLINGTON, October 16. ]■ At the Supreme Court to-day, the young woman Bertha Brown, charged nrith' ■concealing the birth of her child, came up for sentence.
Mr Justice Cooper described the ease as a very sad one, the woman being more sinned against than ginning, and ordered accused to come up for sentence when called upon. William AVillis, against whom there were previous convictions, was sentenced to three years on charges of breaking and entering, and the Judge imposed a similar sentence on James McLean, charged with theft and forgery.
