WOMEN'S BRANCH

A meeting <A tho executive was held at the Girls' College on Monday, July oth. at 4.30 p.m., Miss Fra&er, president, in the chair. Present: Mesdames Sarjeanti, SiddelLs, Cummins; Misses Currio, KnapPj Morton; Jones, Inkster, Craig, .and Newcombe (secretary).

Apologies for absence were received from Mrs D.ove and Mi's Jacob.

The Secretary reported that the total amount collected on Saturday was between £230 and £240. A few small amounts have still to come in.

It was decided to bank the money collected in the Bank of New Zealand, Mesdamcs Sarjeant, SiddeUs, Cummins, Dove, and Mies Fra&er being appointee! trustees. All cheques to be s'gned by the secretary and two trustees.

Tho President was instructed to writs to the St. John Ambulance Association returning thanks for the loan of arm badges, and informing them that the Leaguo is about to organise at least four classes under the autpices of tho Association.

The President was also empowered to writo to Miss McLean, Inspector of Hospitals, asking her to recommend a thoroughly, qualified nurse for appointment. Mis^ McLean to be consulted ns to tho salary to be offered. , Four classes in ■first-aid were rrgnnif:«d to he held as follows: Monday evening, Tupsdav evening, Monday afternoon, and Friday evening. The secretary to ccmmuircate with those who have enrolled, giving them a choice of classes." The fee for attendance at these classes to be ss.

Fro*l lectures on hygiene ami public health are to be arranged for at next meeting.

A meeting of the Council, at which a full attendance is very pnrt:cnlarly requested, is to be held in one of the upstair rooms of the Drill Hall next Friday n'ght at 7.30.
