POSITION OF PUBLIC BODIES

(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, July 5. At the Arbitration Courb this morning the question discussed was the exemption of public bodies from the operation of industrial awards. After legal argument, the president stated that as the question was an important one affecting all the Unions of the Dominion, he thought a case should be 6tated for tho Court of Appeal's opinion as to whether public bodies were intended to come within the moaning cf the Act. In the past the Court had certainly acted as if such bodies were included, but_the question had never been raised. He"advised that tho Union representative should employ counsel before the Appeal Court.
