MARTON NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

At 5.30 p.m. yesterday the firebell rang out an alarm. The outbreak proved to bo at Mr E. G. Humphrey's residence in Cubbabballa Street. The Brigade turned out but were not needed, willing neighbours having put the fire out in its incipient stage. The front bedroom was damaged a bit, the wall paper and bed-hangings being destroyed. Had it not been for the promptitude of the persons near at hand the place must have been gutted.
