Mr Clement Wrsige advises that the penumbra of the Antarctic disturbance " Davenport," which caused floods in Australia, is now gradually overlapping all New Zealand, and very soon its influence will be more pronounced. The preliminary features will be strong winclr, to squalls. The disturbance so far looks sinister, and minor shipping are particularly . warned. The West Coast will probably have a rough time in the near future ,and Cook Strait and Wellington will be affected. Much rain is likely to fall, and sleet and snow in the South, Avhile bad weather is a dead certainty over the Tasman Sea and off the Bluff;
