WELLINGTON, July 2
The following is the Rev. -D. C. Bates' general weather forecast:—Heavy rain is probable north of East Cape and Kawhia and elsewhere shortly. A heavy easterly gale is probable north of East Capo and Kawhia, south-easterly strong to galo thence to Cape Campbell and Hokitika, and northerly freshening strong to gale elsewhere. The barometer will fall everywhere, and the weather remain very unsettled for a few days.
