AMBULANCE SATURDAY.
TO-DAY
We 'understand "that the arrangements in connection with the- Ambulance Saturday movement are in, pez--iect order. Every block, every street, every suburb, will be occupied^ by the many enthusiastic lady collectors. The promises of support from all over the to.wn, should result in a highly successful campaign, and we belieyo the citizens of Wanganui will (as in tho past) -do their part by contributing to such a worthy movement. We understand that of the many branches of theIx»ague, .throughout New Zealand th& Women's Branch of the Wanganui League is the first in New Zealand to •organise not only an Ambulance Saturday for funds to carry on their work, but the formation of classes for instruction in first aid and homo nursing, and establishing an Ambulance Brigade and Nursing Division and—most important c-t all~t!ie acquiring of a permanent district nurse. We sincerely hope that tiieir de<sc."ying; aims and objects will b© duly rewarded, in the interests of our women and suffering humanity generally.
The Secretary's office for the day will be the Borough Council Chambers kindly placed at, the disposal of the committee by His Worship the Mayor. The Executive of the women's branch' desire to gratefully acknowledge tho sum of £10 Ifts from Miss Fraeer, and1 £2 2s from Mr L. Cohen towards the Ainlmlance Saturday Fund.
A large number of new members were enrolled"yesterday, and in course of a few days another hundred will bo added1 to the already largo list of members.
