A cable from the High Commissioner, dated 26th inst., says:— The wool sales closed firm, with excellent competition for all descriptions, and the advance was fully maintained. r A very small quantity was held over. Business in the manufacturing districts is improving, and prospects are favourable. The estimated values are: —Superior merino Is to Is 2d, medium do. lOd. to Is ,inferior do. 7d to 9|d, fine crossbreds (all grades) Is to Is 3d, medium crossbreds (all grades) 9£d to llj-d, coarse crossbreds (all grades) <3£d to 9£d.
