WELLINGTON, February 2. A young woman named May Hadlott, with several aliases, charged with obtaininor £50 hy false pretences from Walter Clifford, appeared before the Court to-day. It is allegro! .that she represented herself as a niece of the late Campbell-Bannerman. She was remanded till the 10th inst., bail being allowed.
INVERCARGILL, February 2
At the Police Court to-day Margaret MacaulifFe. boaidinghouse keeper rj'eaded guilty to a charge of sly grog selling, and was s.ntenced to three months' imprisonment.
