MR R. A. WRIGHT.
Mr R. A. "Wright, the new member for Wellington South, is a partner in the firm of Messrs Wright and Carman, printers, Wellington. He was born in Dunedin, and spent several years of his early life on the West Coast of the South Island. He has resided in Wellington for upwards of twenty years. He is a strong prohibrtionist, and on two occasions was elected a member or__ the Wellington Licensing Committee. He first came into prominence as., a speaker at the licensing election three years ago, when by means of open-air meetings he assisted greatly in securing -■ the return of a committee pledged to close hotels at 10 o'clock. At present the new member is chairman of two cooperative I>uildin£ societies. In politics lie is an Independent Oppositionist, and favours a policy of reform.
