GARRISON BALL.

The Garrison Ball, an event which has been the topic of the past few weeks, eventuated in the Drill Hall last evening, when guests from all parts of the surrounding district, accepted the invitations of the hosts. The arrangements of the evening were complete, nothing being left to mar the success of the occasion. The hall itself was beautifully decorated. Not a corner had been left untouched by the deft handsof the artistic decorators. Festoons of red, white and blue, entwined with foliage and intermingled with flags of all nations, hid the roof. The' walla were draped and hung with photos of various corps, while and there a. mirror reflected the 175 couples as they danced to music supplied by Crozier's. Band. The stage had been converted into a cosy drawing-room, where dancers and non-dancers could while away the time on couches and armchairs hidden by splendid palms supplied by Mr Laird. Colonel John Watt escorted Miss Morgan in the official set, which was composed of Colonel James Watt and Mrs. Morgan, Captain Morgan and Mrs Jas watt,_ Captain Morrison and Miss Handley. The arrangements for the evening: were ably carried out by Staff-Sergt.-Major Peacock (secretary), assisted by bergt Cox (assistant secretary). Th^ M.s C. were Capt. C. Morrison, CaptGr. Innes, Lieiits. L. Craig, J. Cade, Gaffaney Staff-Sergt..Major Peacock^ and Sergts.-Major Dodd, Anderson, ami Quarter-Master-Sergt. Per--^'T^krSjo?ll'-00*' and M^ ™ fiir^Tv 1- ■ Mcllw*in. These gentlemen failed their position admirably. The supper room was a picture. There were nine tables, and they were loaded with an adundance of good things, which once more proved Mr W. S. Dustin to be unexcelled as a caterer.
