Tho adjourned monthly meeting of the above was held on Saturday last, when there wero present—Messrs A. G. Bignell (chairman;, Gonvillo Saimders, J. Dempsej^ J. W. Baker, and F. Webb Jones.

McGREGOR' S ROAD.—Correspondence dealing with the road connecting Tawhero with Smithiield was read.— Air Baker urged that tho work should be proceeded with at once, and the matter was left in tho hands of the Chairman to definitely deal with. NEW ROAD.—Messrs Meldrum and Maclean, solicitors, wrote on behalf of Miss Cameron, owner of a number of sections between tho Town Belt and Alma Road, asking tho Board to form and metal 16 chains of a road there at her expense.—An estimate was laid on tho table, and tho Chairman was empowered to arrange for tho work being tlone provided a cheque was advanced for the cost.

KOROMIKO ROAD.—In reply to a letter from Mr Boyd it was decided that he be informed no objection would bo raised to his filling in the hole in front of his section..

BOUNDARY ROAD.~On the motion of tho Chairman it was resolved to accept tho offer of the Borough Council to bearhalf the cost of forming the road leading from the boundary road to Ma* Hogg's residence. Tho total estimated cost was £20 Bs.

GAS LAMPS.—The Borough's reply to tho application of the Board for the Council to erect two lamps on the boundary road to tho Hospital was read, to the effect that it was not prepared to carry out tho undertaking at the borough's expense, as the lamps were for the convenience of town district residents.— Tho Chairman pointed out that the lamps also served borough tenants, tho number of which would be largely increased shortly when the^ borough reserves, now being levelled^' were placed on tho market. He suggested that the Board should meet the borough half way, and.pay the cost of one, and the Council tho other.—Tho matter was left in the hands of the Chairman.

GAS EXTENSION.—It was decided, on tho motion of Mr Jones, to write tho Council, asking that tho gas mains bo extended to Alma Road and Smithfield without delay.

NEW UNDERTAKINGS.—With respect to the question of a -recreation ground and tho proposed' road construction connecting King's and Caius Avenues with Tawa- Street, the Chairman thought it would bo a mistake for tho Board, which would shortly- go out of office, to decide these important questions. They should be left to the new Board.—lt was decided to recommend tho new Board to ask the ratepayers to givo consent to the purchase of a site of 10 acres fronting Alma Road as a recreation ground. -

RACECOURSE ROAD.—Mr Jones proposed that a letter be sent to the Borough Council, asking that the road around the racecourse to Alma Road bo improved and the sides cleaned up a little. Its present condition, he said, greatly interfered with the.progress of that end of the Gonville district junctioning on tho boundary.—The Chairman suggested that the Council should also be asked to widen tho road, which would should be at once undertaken in the interests of the borough as well as tho town district, as it was the road leading direct to the borough sections which were being opened up preparatory to leasing.—The clerk was instructed to Write accordingly.
