DALGETY AND CO.'S HIDE AND SKIN REPORT.
Dalgety and Company, Limited, Palmerston North, report having held their usual monthly sale of wool, skins, and hides -on the Gth inst-, when a good catalogue was offered to a fair attendance of buyers. Wool and skins sold at last sale rates; hides were well competed for, >and good heavy lines of ox and cpws advanced to -jd per lb. We quote:— Wool.—•Crossbred, inferior, in bags, 4^3 to sd; lambs, medium lots, 5d to 6£d;- ; log-stained and inferior lots 3-^d to 4UI; dead wool, 3-Ad to 4i!-d; locks, 2id to 2jd. •Skins.—Butchers' dry pelts.4d to 4id per lb; bare pelts, 3-£ dto 3gd; inferior aiid.damaged, l^d to 2^ ; lambs., woolly, 4|d to o^cl; short and shorn, 213. to 3^-d . woolly crossbred, 4Jd; butchers' salted pelts, Is 6d, Is Bd, Is 9d, 2s Id, to -2s od; shorn lambs, Is Id. Hides.—Heavy ox (661b.)/ 6d per lb ; medium (601b.), s|d; light (521b.), 4 7-8 d; steers, 4Jd; cows, best lines (481b. to 501b.) 4id to 4^l; light lots, 4 ,l-8d to 4|d; calfskins. 4d to 4^6. for sound lots; cut lots, 2£d 'to 3£d; yearlings, 3Ad to 4d; inferior and slippy lots, Id to 2Jd.
